In your opinion what is a melee weapon?

I consider a "melee weapon" anything you can use in direct contact with your target. ie: knife, bat, stick, sword...battle axe...

My favorite knife is my CRKT M16 folder. It has a 5 in Tanto blade. My wife gave it to me for Christmas. I want to get a Blackhawk Crucible FX fixed blade to add to my collection. What do you like?

My favorite newer knife is a SOG automatic that I picked up at a gun show a few months ago.

To me, a "Melee" weapon is a weapon that you would use against multiple attackers for close proximity combat where causing damage to more then one assailant simultaneously, say, against a hoard of zombies trying to eat your brains and chasing you through a deserted high school.

Examples would be:

To me a melee weapon is any 'weapon of opportunity'. Whatever is within reach at the time; axe, shovel, claw hammer, cricket bat, chainsaw, broken beer bottle, etc...
