Real life experiences?

Real life experiences?Have any of you ever had to use your hand-to-hand training in real life scenarios? If so, what were the circumstances?
Re: Real life experiences?I used to work with developmentally disabled adults. They often had problematic behaviors and we had to restrain them. We weren't allowed to use any "pain inflicting" restraints on them. We were trained in very specific ways as to prevent injury to the person being restrained. These restraints are called Mandt. They're very effective and quick. Sometimes, the situation would get so out of hand that we had to have more than one person assist in the restraint. There are too many of these stories to share. I really miss that job sometimes.
Re: Real life experiences?Four times worth mentioning, none of them fun or good.
I had to subdue a neighborhood punk kid who was giving other people a hard time. I confronted him, he came after me, I took him down (wasn't a pretty takedown, but we were on grass, no traction), landed in side-mount, crossfaced him and held him there for a bit until a police officer arrived. I also had the misfortune of being jumped by 3 guys in a bathroom at a club in Hollywood. They thought I was someone else, I think, judging by what they were yelling at me. Long story short: I fought them off, one was unconscious, another had a broken jaw and nose, I broke my hand, etc. I crawled out of a window afterwards because someone told me the two still conscious guys were waiting for me with like 10 other thugs, possibly armed. In a park, a friend of mine got hit in the head with a can of fruit that was thrown by some punk kid and his buddies who thought it was funny. He had a pretty good laceration on his scalp from it. We did not think it was funny. We confronted the posse (2 of us, 5 or 6 of them), asked for an apology and their contact info so we could collect money in the event of incurring medical bills for my friends head. They didn't like that and things escalated from there. During a basketball game, somehow my team ended up in a bench-clearing throwdown with the other team (funny story: two private Christian schools). Basically, four of the guys from my team had been training with me for a while, it was not pretty.
Re: Real life experiences?I have a few cop tales
the fun ones are the drunks that think they can kick your back side but they can't even stand on their own very well. and try not to laugh when they break their own nose
