You Scare Me
Written by setabkcin

This is a couple months old now, but I haven't heard about it until tonight.  This is a letter that Lou Pritchett, former Vice President of World Sales for Procter & Gamble, wrote to the New York Times who never acknowledged or published it.

Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don’t understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and ‘class’, always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the ‘blame America’ crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer ‘wind mills’ to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use ‘extortion’ tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O’Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

Lou Pritchett

The Media Spin - Racists Carrying Guns at Town Hall Meetings
Written by setabkcin

This was on MSNBC the other day.

Apparently this is racially motivated and all those who carry guns are white racists who are angry about a black man being president.  Strangely they didn't show the man:

I guess showing that this gun was actually carried by a black man would ruin their story of racial motivation.

On the topic of firearms and the media, it's no suprise they're calling this AR15 a "machine gun."

The Media Spin: A black man exercising his Second Amendment rights, carrying a semi-automatic firearm, is portrayed as a white racist right-wing extremist with a machine gun and the intent to do harm to the President.

A Call For Informants
Written by setabkcin

The Whitehouse is calling all citizens to report anyone who opposes the health care plan and other agendas to government officials. This includes your friends and relatives who simply say they may not agree. The following was copied from Whitehouse.gov.

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Is 'disinformation' a code word for 'opposition?' Here's what Jeff Emanuel at RedState.com has to say about it.

Of course, as we’ve seen in the health care debate to date, the term “disinformation” is used by the Obama White House as a catchall to describe any opposition to the President’s push for single-payer, government-run health care — meaning the White House wants to be informed of any forwarded emails or blog posts or any “casual conversations” that could be taken as opposition to their health care overhaul plan.

This seems to be unlawful according to 5 U.S.C. § 552a (e)(7), United States agencies, including the Executive Office of the President shall, “maintain no record describing how any individual exercises rights guaranteed by the First Amendment unless expressly authorized by statute or by the individual about whom the record is maintained or unless pertinent to and within the scope of an authorized law enforcement activity.”

I have yet to see any statute that "expressly authorizes" anyone to record how I feel about the Health Care Bill, nor are my feelings on the matter pertinent to or within the scope of any law enforcement activity.

And finally, here are Glenn Becks thoughts on the new Disinformation Czar Linda Douglass.

Facts are stubborn things, indeed.

I enjoy watching Glenn Beck. He has very interesting ideas that seem to make sense. Yesterday, his show aired from The Alamo in San Antonio, Texas at one of the Tea Parties. This is just one of hundreds of protests nationwide. I hope you enjoy the video.

Becoming an Illegal Alien
Written by setabkcin
Wednesday, 25 February 2009 17:00

The following is an email that was forwarded to my today. While it is intended to be humorous, we can all admit we'd be better off with these perks. The email follows:

The Honorable Tom Harkin
731 Hart Senate Office Building
Phone (202) 224 3254 Washington DC , 20510

Dear Senator Harkin,

As a native Iowan and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your a ssistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.

Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year.

Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications, as well as "in-state" tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college age children driving my car.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

Your Loyal Constituent,
Donald Ruppert
Burlington, IA
